E. NALBANDIAN: TURKEY SHOULD TAKE UP CONCRETE STEPS

Yesterday, Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian who was on his official
visit to Berlin discussed the normalization process of the Armenian –
Turkish relations with the Germany’s Vice Chancellor, Foreign Minister
Guido Westerwelle.
"If Turkey really wishes to have the continuation of this process
and success, then it should keep itself far from using preconditions,
looking for artificial pretexts for delaying the process and it should
take up concrete steps for ratifying and implementing the protocols",-
E. Nalbandian told on the meeting, the Armenian MFA reports. The
minister assured that Armenia follows the progress of the process
that was launched by its initiation and expects the same attitude
from turkey.
Minister Guido Westerwelle mentioned that Germany is greeting and
supporting all the efforts which will bring to confirmation of normal
relations between Armenian and Turkey and will lead to the opening
of the borders.
During the meeting the foreign ministers of Armenia and Germany touched
upon issues concerning the security and stability in our region.
By the request of the German FM minister Nalbandian presented the last
developments in Karabakh conflict settlement reached in the result
of the negotiation processes. The two have touched importance to the
peaceful settlement of the issue.
