The statement by Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoðan — that he
will deport illegal Armenians from Turkey should the Armenian Diaspora
continue its efforts to have more parliaments adopt resolutions
recognizing the Armenian Genocide — is vey dangerous and violates
human rights, said Deniz Baykal, leader of Turkey’s largest opposition
party, the Republican People’s Party, reports the Turkish press.

"The wish to use people who have come to work in Turkey as playing
cards to solve a dispute is unacceptable and violates human rights,"
said Baykal.

Earlier, as a sort of backlash to a wave of adoption of genocide
resolutions, a suggestion to deport illegal Armenians from Turkey
had been made by Canan Arýtman, a member of the same Republican
People’s Party.
