HIS HOLINESS ARAM I EXPRESSES HIS CONDOLENCES TO THE MUSLIM POPULATION IN
EGYPT
His Holiness Aram I sent a letter of condolences to the Sunni Muslim
Leadership and the Leadership of Al Azhar University upon the passing away
of Muhammad Tantawi, Sheikh of al-Azhar, who died of heart attack in Riyadh.
In his letter the Catholicos mentioned that the Sheikh of al-Azhar would be
remembered for his contribution to interfaith dialogue. Bishop Kegham
Khatcherian the Prelate of Lebanon personally conveyed the condolences of
His Holiness Aram I to the Mufti of Lebanon Sheikh Kabbani.
