AVERAGE NOMINAL SALARY IN ARMENIA FOR JAN-FEB 2010 UP 5.8%

ArmInfo. Average nominal salary in Armenia for Jan-Feb 2010 as compared
to the same period of 2009 was up 5.8%. In February as against January
2010, it was up 3.4%, having amounted to 101310 drams ($267), the
preliminary report of the Armenian National Statistical Service says.

Thus, the salary per employee at budgetary institutions totaled
83,855 AMD or $221 (4,8% increase for Jan-Feb 2010). At non-budgetary
institutions, the average salary totaled 127,148 AMD or $335 (6,8%
growth for Jan-Feb). The salary of employees at budgetary institutions
was up 6,5% per year, that of non-budgetary institutions – 0.5%.

In Jan-Feb 2010, the official number of the unemployed totaled 83.6
thousand people, the annual incline being 10.4%. As compared to
January, the number of the unemployed was down 1.5%.
