SWEDEN ATTEMPTING TO WIN TURKEY’S HEART WITH MONEY?

Turkish media, citing a statement on the official website of the
Swedish government, report that Sweden will financially support Turkey
in making improvements in the public and legal sectors.

Furthermore, Sweden will secure scholarships for students in Turkish
universities, who will also have the opportunity to participate in
different programs in Sweden, funded by the Swedish authorities,
including programs in the fields of human rights and democracy.

Turkish media have deemed this initiative by the Swedish government
as "an effort to ease the tension in Turkish-Swedish relations after
the riksdag approved a resolution recognizing the Armenian Genocide"
and an attempt by Sweden to "win Turkey’s heart with money."
