YEREVAN, MARCH 23, NOYAN TAPAN. In the opinion of the ARFD, the
anticrisis program of the Armenian government is a failed one. Armen
Rustamian, a representative of the ARF Armenia Supreme Body, declared
this during the March 23 press conference. In his words, Armenia
is currently facing the crisis of economic management, whose main
symptom is the constant accumulation of unsolved problems. He said
that a direct manifestation of the crisis is unbridled inflation in
Armenia under conditions of the low purchasing capacity of consumers.

"Inflation has reached an illogically high level, especially as the
gas, power and water tariffs have not officially risen yet," A.

Rustamian noted.

He stated that the ARF will not limit itself to expressing opinions.

In connection with the rise in tariffs and its consequences,
a specialized working group was set up and it already summarized
the work done. "First of all, we are going to ask questions and we
expect the government to give exhaustive answers to our questions,"
he underlined.

He said that the government does not follow the guidelines of 22
priorities stipulated in the coalition memorandum. "It is strange that
the political forces making part of the coalition did not publicly
reject those priorities, but at the same time they have not presented
any report on work done in this direction," A. Rustamian said.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
