The President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, who conducted an official
visit to Syria at the invitation of the President of the Syrian Arab
Republic Bashar Al-Assad, answering the question of the Associated
Press news agency on how close and on which stage the NKR conflict
settlement said that his main goal in the negotiations is providing
security for the people of the Nagorno Karabakh.

"I am trying to find solutions which will allow the NKR people develop
peacefully on the historical area, however in our region too warlike
statements can be heard, the hostility and mutual suspicions are
growing. This was the reason why I suggested Azerbaijan publicly
to sign an agreement on not using force and threatening, which will
give us an opportunity to establish some kind of stability and form
an atmosphere of trust. Thus rejecting our suggestion Azerbaijan
ignores the main principle of the International Right. This can’t
lead to a good result," the RA President answered reminding about
the aggression Azerbaijan realized in 1990s.

"The same kind of situation occurred also in 1990s. We were saying that
the Karabakh conflict should be solved in a peaceful way, Azerbaijan
showed an aggression, and that’s why today we have the situation that
you see," RA President Serzh Sargsyan said.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
