Representative of the Supreme Body of the [major opposition Armenian
Revolutionary Federation] Dashnaktsutyun party, [MP] Armen Rustamyan,
stated today that the Armenian government "failed the crisis prevention
program".

Mediamax reports that, speaking at a news conference, Armen Rustamyan
stated that "our party presented a number of proposals on coming out
of the crisis to the government; however the executive body did not
take those recommendations into consideration".

Dashnaktsutyun representative pointed to the following economic
problems: new social problems occur more frequently in the country
than the existing ones are solved; there is uncontrollable increase
of prices; absence of an anti-monopoly policy and dependence of the
economy on monopolies; concealment of the real volume of minimum of
subsistence, aiming at hiding the high level of poverty in the country.

Armen Rustamyan stated that these and other issues will be discussed
at the social-democratic party’s conference on "Social approaches to
Armenia’s challenges: global prospects, local realities", which will
take place in Yerevan on March 25-26.
