/PanARMENIAN.Net/ German politicians reacted critically to the
proposal of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, to open
Turkish high schools in Germany. Most of the representatives of
political parties and public figures in Germany, including those of
Turkish origin opposed that idea. "Children of Turkish origin should
attend German schools in our country,’ German Chancellor Angela Merkel
said.

The Minister of Justice, Integration and European Affairs of the State
of Hesse Jörg-Uwe Hahn called Erdogan’s proposal the "wrong signal".
According to him, the priority objective is the integration of
immigrants from Turkey in the German society, while the establishment
of Turkish high schools may lead to further isolation of this group of
citizens.

Erdogan’s proposal was rejected by the German politicians of Turkish
origin. "I believe that, on the contrary, children from families
speaking Turkish at home, must start studying the German language as
soon as possible," Bundestag deputy from the Free Democratic Party
Serkan Tören said to the Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung newspaper.
According to Teren, that will help them succeed not only in their
profession, but also in the society in general.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
