Serbian parliament to debate Armenian Genocide draft resolution

27.03.2010 15:09 GMT+04:00

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ Serbian parliament intends to discuss a draft
resolution on the Armenian Genocide, introduced by Serbian Radical
Party (SRS).

According to SRS spokesman Zoran Krasic, Serbian parliament will
discuss the draft resolution in the near future.

The Armenian Genocide (1915-23) was the deliberate and systematic
destruction of the Armenian population of the Ottoman Empire during
and just after World War I. It was characterized by massacres, and
deportations involving forced marches under conditions designed to
lead to the death of the deportees, with the total number of deaths
reaching 1.5 million.

The majority of Armenian Diaspora communities were formed by the
Genocide survivors.

From: Emil Lazarian | Ararat NewsPress

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
