Ankara has instructed the country’s local self-governing bodies
to diminish relations with all those cities in Bulgaria who have
recognized the Armenian Genocide.
According to Turkish news agency Firat, under directions by Turkey’s
Department of Foreign Affairs, the country’s Ministry of the Interior
sent special instructions to all provincial governors, asking them
to review their relations with those Bulgarian cities that have
recognized the Armenian Genocide, right down to nullifying memos that
name sister cities.
