Artsakh’s President Bako Sahakian hosted Sunday, March 28, the OSCE
Minsk Group Co-Chairs Yuri Merzlyakov of the Russian Federation,
Bernard Fassier of France, Robert Bradtke of the United States,
and other officials, who accompanied them. Nagorno Karabakh’s
Foreign Minister Georgi Petrosian and Personal Representative of
the Chairman-in-Office Ambassador Andrzej Kasprzyk were present at
talks, too.

Parties discussed a range of items, related to the current stage and
prospects of the settlement to the Karabakh conflict, and paid an
attention to the situation in the border lines between the countries.

President Bako Sahakian one more time stressed that it’s impossible
to reach an agreement on the settlement to the conflict without
Nagorno Karabakh’s participation in the negotiations. He said that
the only and main obstacles in the way of conflict’s resolving are
war threats by Azerbaijan and Azerbaijan’s rejection of the mutual
trust-making initiatives.

Bako Sahakian said that security and independent of Nagorno Karabakh
is not an item for dealing, and any attempt to go back to the past
may cause unpredictable consequences.

Referring to Armenia-Turkey relations, Artsakh’s President said that
the process has no links to the process of settlement to the Karabakh
conflict, while any attempts to link them is a way to a deadlock for
both processes.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
