ARMENIA’S TRADE WITH EU IN JAN.-FEB. 2010 GROWS BY 35.% TO $211.5 MILLION

YEREVAN, April 1, /arka/. armenia’s trade with eu in january-february
2010 grew by 35% year-on-year to $211.5 million, the National
Statistical Service reported. EU member countries accounted for 33.8%
of Armenia’s foreign trade in the period under question, it said.
According to official figures, Armenian exports to EU grew by 75.1%
year-on-year to $68.7 million (about 56.6% of all exports in the
reporting time), while imports from EU countries grew by 23.7% to
$119.9 million (23.8% of all imports). In terms of country of origin
the import of goods from EU rose by 22.5% to $142.8 million.
Armenia’s largest trade partner in EU was Germany that accounted for
7.4% of the overall trade (some $46.2 million), it was followed by
Bulgaria – $40.5 million (6.5%), France- $15.7 million ( 2.5%), Belgium
-$15.5 million or 2.5% and the Netherlands – $ 13.9 million or 2.2%.
Armenia’s aggregate foreign trade in January-February 2010 grew
by 22.5% year-on-year to $625.2 million with exports making $121.4
million and imports – $503.8 million ($1 – 398.29 Drams).
