An International Monetary Fund mission will travel to Turkey in
mid-May to conduct a regular economic review of the Turkish economy,
an IMF spokesperson said on Thursday, reports Reuters.
Spokesperson Gerry Rice told a regular news briefing there was no
date set for the IMF visit to Turkey. Such Article IV consultations
are conducted every year between the IMF and its 186 member countries.
Turkey and the IMF said recently they would no longer pursue
discussions on an IMF loan program for the country since economic
conditions had improved.
