Referring to Turkish Ambassador to U.S. Namik Tan’s return to
Washington, Turkish FM Ahmet Davutoglu declared it will be clear
in the next few days. According to him, their concern is temporal,
as the number of U.S. messages increases as they expected, Turkish
Zaman daily reports.

Turkish FM called the last telephone conversation with U.S. Secretary
of State Hillary Clinton useful and constrictive. "I had an
opportunity to present recent developments in Turkey-Armenia,
Azerbaijan-Armenia relations, as well as Turkey’s expectations and
concerns in the course of conversation. Clinton made a point of
Turkish Premier’s participation in Global Nuclear Security Summit
in Washington. Turkey-U.S. strategic cooperation, as well as issues
on lasting peace keeping in the Caucasus through Armenia-Turkey
reconciliation were also in focus. I believe we can be more optimistic
after the developments in last weeks. We will shortly step up efforts
and make decisions in this direction. After re-consulting with Premier,
we will announce our decision," Davutoglu said.

Asked whether he will join Erdogan if the latter leaves for the U.S.

and whether the meeting with Armenian Diaspora in Washington is
scheduled, Davutoglu replied that he will accompany Erdogan, however
the meeting with Diaspora representatives is not necessarily to be
held within the frames of this visit.

Beyond Armenia-Turkey reconciliation, it is critical that Armenians
and Turks could enter into dialogue anywhere. From this viewpoint,
meeting with Armenian Diaspora is crucial. These are the principles
to be discussed in the future," Davutoglu concluded.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
