Turkey cannot start dialogue with Diaspora pursuing blackmail policy

11:05 / 04/03/2010 Pursuing its blackmail policy, Turkey cannot make
statements on a dialogue with the Armenian Diaspora, Director of the
ARF-D office in Moscow Yuri Navoyan stated in his interview with
NEWS.am. According to him, no change in Turkey’s non-constructive
policy towards Armenia has taken place, which would inspire
confidence. Under the circumstances, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet
Davutoglu’s statements on a dialogue have no sense and pursue other
aims, he said.

`On the threshold of the 95th anniversary of Armenian Genocide Turkey
again tries to act with cunning and convince the international
community that they are trying to conduct a dialogue with the Armenian
Diaspora and hold consultations with Armenians,’ Navoyan said. He
pointed out that Turkish diplomacy is trying to prove the viewpoints
of Armenians in Armenia and Diaspora to be incompatible.

`Turkey’s policy to drive a wedge between Armenia and the Armenian
Diaspora will not succeed, as no Armenian will betray his national
interests. Turks want the Armenian people to forget the Genocide and
return the liberated Nagorno-Karabakh,’ Navoyan said. He added that a
country occupying the northern part of EU member Cyprus, has not any
moral right to demand that Armenia withdraw troops from the liberated
areas.

According to him, a dialogue with Turkey will be possible only if the
Turkish authorities recognize the Armenian Genocide, lift the blockade
and take an impartial position on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
