The Armenian-Turkmen Intergovernmental Commission opened its 2nd
sitting in Yerevan. The sitting was opened by Commission Co-Chairmen,
RA Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Armen Movsisyan, and
Turkmen Vice-Premier Khydyr Saparalaliyev. The trade turnover between
the two friendly states is unsatisfactory, Minister Movsisyan said.

The Turkmen Vice-Premier conveyed the Turkmen President’s greetings
to the participants, pointing out that Armenia and Turkmenistan have
signed a number of agreements over recent years. The agreements are
supposed to facilitate the development of bilateral relations.

An exhibition and sale of Turkmen products is to be opened in Yerevan
on April 8. An Armenian-Turkmen business forum will be held as well.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
