In observance of the anniversary of the 1915 Genocide, a documentary
on Genocide, "Aghet-Ein Völkermord" by Eric Friedler, was screened
in Berlin at the Babylon Cinema.

The premiere was attended by German and Armenian officials, and
representatives of the Armenian Community of Germany. The premiere
was followed by speaking of Armenia’s Ambassador to Germany Armen
Martirosian and film’s director Eric Friedler.

The 90-minute film was shot by German filmmakers in 2009-2010. Written
and directed by Eric Friedler, the film reveals one of the darkest
chapters of the First World War, during which up to 1.5 million
Armenians were killed in Turkey. To this day, the 1915 Genocide is
denied as a historical fact by the Turkish government as well as by
some European states. "Aghet" deals with the political motives behind
this silence.
