HYDYR SAPARLIYEV MEETS PRESIDENT OF ARMENIA AND CATHOLICOS OF ALL ARMENIANS

Vice Premier of Turkmenistan Hydyr Saparliyev, who arrived in
Yerevan to attend a meeting of the Turkmen-Armenian intergovernmental
commission on cooperation, was received by the President of Armenia,
Serzh Sargsyan on April 8.
The head of the republic said that Armenia was interested in expanding
trade and economic ties with Turkmenistan and expects that the
intergovernmental commission will push forward the mutually beneficial
bilateral cooperation. During the meeting, Serzh Sargsyan extended
an invitation to President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov
to visit Yerevan.
On the same day, Hydyr Saparliyev met with the head of the Armenian
Apostolic Church, Garegin II. The Catholicos of All Armenians
stressed the importance of deepening cooperation between Armenia
and Turkmenistan, which, he said, would promote the welfare of the
peoples of both countries.
It should be recalled that in 2005-2007 Hydyr Saparliyev served as
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the
Republic of Armenia.
