Armenia to close 2010 with GDP growth: CB chairman
YEREVAN, April 10, /ARKA/. Armenian Central Bank chairman Arthur
Javadian cited today a string of latest macroeconomic indexes to say
they are evidence that Armenia is set to close this year with economic
growth.
He said the country managed to avoid deflationary pressures last year
thanks to the expansionist policies of the government and the Central
Bank. Arthur Javadian said further the economic situation has
`seriously’ changed.
`Last July and August we had an 18% GDP fall and closed the year with
a 14.4% decline, but in the first two months of this year our economic
grew by 3.1%,’ he said. The government projects a 1.2% economic growth
for the year. -0-
