Armenia Commemorates Azerbaijan’S Crime In Maragha Village

ARMENIA COMMEMORATES AZERBAIJAN’S CRIME IN MARAGHA VILLAGE

Every year the leaders and media of Azerbaijan trumpet about tragedies
of their country smartly finalized in the package of the genocide of
the Azerbaijani, although even they barely believe in that myth, not to
mention anyone else in the world. The sanctimony of their celebrations
is in that they carefully guard the secrets and never reveal the inside
facts and the true nature of the event or just keep modest silence.

For example, when talking about the bringing of the troops into their
capital Baku in January 1990, they never explain the reason the Soviet
Army entered the city. How dare they say the truth? The simple fact
is that the Azerbaijani, who are so international and peace-loving by
their nature, were slaughtering and banishing the local Armenians,
and the troops were brought into the city in an attempt to protect
the defenseless people.

However, there are fragrant sins that they draw a veil over and sweep
under the carpet. The most notorious in the entire line of their crimes
is, of course, the Sumgait massacre. Azerbaijan prefers to pretend
that nothing happened in February 1988. So does it do regarding the
brutal slaughter of innocent civilians of Maragha on April 10th,
1992. It was one of the biggest villages of Nagorno-Karabakh, the
disputed territory between Armenia and Azerbaijan. We use the verb
in the past tense because that settlement was completely annihilated
by the Azeri SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics squad). Since the men
of the village were in the territorial militia, it was populated by
children, women, and veterans of the WWII and Labor. However, the
amok Azerbaijani war dogs burned the village down. As a result of this
raid, about 100 people were murdered, most of them being beheaded and
slashed, 40 villagers were injured, and 63 were captivated, including
9 children taken as hostages. The aftermath of this crime is filmed,
and it is impossible to watch the disfigured and burned bodies without
shudder. The video episodes are at
but the faint of heart need not apply.

The Azerbaijani are fond of informing the world of the tragedy in the
city of Khojalu in Nagorno-Karabakh. According to them, the Armenian
squads deliberately murdered hundreds of peaceful civilians there.

However, there is a person who has aimed to the delivery of truth to
the world – Baroness Caroline Cox, a cross-bench member of the British
House of Lords. In the interview posted at the abovementioned site,
she tells us the evidence of the slaughter in Maragha (vertebrae and
heads sworded off, burned people alive, pillaging Azeri soldiers)
and confirms that "there is a big difference between the way the
Azeris attack and the way the Armenians attack. …When the Armenians
had to take a village where the Azeris lived, they would try to do
everything to protect the civilians, to let them know in advance,
so that the civilians could evacuate and there would be a minimum
loss of lives of women and children".

One’s as good as none. Lady Cox needs more support in her efforts
for the dissemination of the real facts to the international community.

This posting will hopefully lead more people to know the truth about
the Maragha genocide in particular and about the Nagorno-Karabakh
armed conflict in general.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
