"The protocol has always been a headache for us," Turkish Prime
Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in a half-humorous way at the
George Mason University at the end of his lecture when the organizers
reminded him that the event had already finished.

Our correspondent in Washington says that Erdogan did not say anything
about his meeting with Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan earlier in
the framework of the World Nuclear Security Summit. Nor did he say
anything about the Armenia-Turkey normalization.

There not any questions on Armenia-Turkey normalization after the
lecture either. Instead Erdogan answered to journalists’ questions
ranging from issues related to Tibetan spiritual Dalai Lama to Iran’s
nuclear program.

Unfortunately, at first Erodgan’s securtiy services did not allow
Armenian journalists to attend the lecture saying there were no
translation equipments. However, they allowed them attending the
lecture, though it was announced that only students should pose
questions.

Our correspondent in Washinton says it was not possible to ask Mr
Erdogan whether or not he was going to meet Armenia halfway over
the normalization.
