RA Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan stated that Armenia has registered a
high economic index in the 2010 first quarter, exceeding expectations
2.5 times.

"This became possible due to the government’s proper economic policy
during the crisis," PM Sargsyan said during a joint meeting of the
RA and NKR governments in Stepanakert. "The year of 2009 was the
hardest for Armenia. The construction industry – the engine of the
Armenian economy – was severely damaged. With the amount of private
investments significantly reducing, Armenia launched an extensive
policy, spending credits issued by strategic partners on construction
of roads, water-supply systems and dwelling houses."

He also said that pensions and benefits raised by 16% and 15%
respectively.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
