`The Flowers of My Garden’
Second Annual ASA Student Art Show

It was during a splash art project in the classroom that eighth-grader
Kristine Kzelian created a powerful piece centered around flowers. What
resulted was an impressive artwork that more than caught art teach Armen
Yepoyan’s eye. Envisioning how beautiful the hallways of the school
would look adorned by a dozen or more similar pieces, Yepoyan suggested
she start creating a series of flower art for a solo exhibit. Kzelian
was thrilled and excitedly accepted the challenge. Over the next
several months, she persisted in working hard to produce a series of
vivid flowers in a variety of mediums, including oil pastel, acrylic
paint, watercolor, metallic crayon and China marker.

Kzelian has always loved to draw. `Over the last three years, I’ve
seen Kristine’s artistic progress. She has a real talent to do a
variety of work and successfully mix different mediums,’ says Yepoyan.
`This exhibit is the result of her level of seriousness, hard work
and dedication to her expressive side,’ he added. ??`I hope people
enjoy viewing the exhibit as much as I enjoyed creating it,’ comments
Kzelian. Spring officially arrived at the ASA on March 21st with the
opening of Kzelian’s `The Flowers of My Garden’ solo show, that
will remain on display until mid-May.
