The foreign ministry of Turkey this evening issued a statement
denying that its foreign minister Ahmet Davutoglu gave interview to
Azerbaijan’s APA news agency.
Yesterday, when the leadership of Turkey and Armenia were holding
bilateral meetings in Washington D.C. Azerbaijan’s APA pro-government
news agency had published an interview with Turkish foreign minister
Ahmet Davutoglu in which Davutoglu is attributed saying Turkey won’t
improve relations with Armenia unless Armenia makes concessions
with Azerbaijan. Turkish foreign ministry spokesman today denied any
such interview.
According to Turkish Weekly the spokesperson of Turkey’s foreign
ministry Burak Ozugergin told Anadolu Agency today that Davutoglu
has not given an interview to Azerbaijan’s APA agency.
He continued that the remarks that APA attributed to the Turkish
foreign minister were not made by Davutoglu.
APA immediately removed the report after the denial from Turkey. This
is where the false interview was published on APA’s website. The
story is now removed.
APA is known for false publications, copyright violations and false
attributions. Yesterday it published one of HULIQ’s story without
permission or any attribution.
