Armenia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Shavarsh Kocharian said in an
interview with Interfax that statements by Azerbaijan’s President
Ilham Aliev on ‘original Azerbaijani territories’ are a complete
nonsense. In particular, Ilham Aliev said that ‘modern Armenia is
founded on age-old Azerbaijani territories."

"Aliev talks through his hat, up to now being unable to understand
that he has inherited a presidential chair, but not those historical
Armenian territories which for various reasons were temporary under
the reign of Persian Shahs and appointed by them Khans," Shavarsh
Kocharian told Interfax.
