Belmont, Mass. — Artist Adrienne Der Marderosian is participating
in an exhibition entitled, The Armenian Genocide-95 Years Later,
In Remembrance.
This show honors the memory of over one and half million Armenians
who perished under the rule of the Ottoman Empire during World War
I from1915 to 1918 and again from 1920 to 1923.
This exhibition features an iris print that Der Marderosian created in
response to her Armenian identity. In her work entitled, "Kchatkar,"
the artist chose to combine Armenian text with Armenian imagery to
"create a visual testament to the Christian faith and religious
fortitude of the Armenian people."
Der Marderosian’s work has been exhibited nationally since the early
1990s. The artist has received numerous awards including her recent
acknowledgement from the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
The Armenian Genocide-95 Years Later, In Remembrance will run through
April 30.
