What will happen in the Armenian-Turkish process after President
Serzh Sargsyan’s visit to Washington? Turkologist Hakob Chakryan and
political scientist Stepan Stepanyan assessed President Sargsyan’s
meetings in Washington as successful. They called special attention
to President’s speech at Washington National Cathedral.

The Armenian diplomacy is developing, Stepan Stepanyan said, analyzing
the President’s meetings and statements. According to him, the
President’s speech at Woodrow Wilson’s memorial was strong and brave.

What will change after the Washington meetings? Political scientist
Hakob Chakryan considers that no serious breakthrough should be
expected taking into consideration Turkey’s problems connected with
the Kurdish issue, constitutional changes and the Ergenekon case.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
