Commemora tion tree-planting is due in Tsitsernakaberd on April 22,
when 95 trees brought from Western Armenia will be planted. The event
will be held by World Wildlife Fund, VivaCell-MTS and Armenian Genocide
Museum-Institute, the three initiators said at a joint conference on
Earth Day events.

The chairman of the World Wildlife Fund Armenia R. Khachatryan
said a tour to Western Armenia had been organized to carry out the
tree-planting. The tour took 4 days instead of the scheduled 14.

Unique sorts of trees have been brought from Western Armenia,
particularly ever-green ones.

The director of the Genocide Museum-Institute Hayk Demoyan said the
institute is also a green territory of 100 hectares, which makes
half the green space of the Armenian capital and they are intent to
preserve the green space, like VivaCell-MTS Company, led by corporative
policy ideology.

"There is a still untouched archaeological territory in
Tsitsernakaberd, and we are planning to carry out excavations there.

The name of Tsitsernakaberd dates back to ancient times, it is a unique
site, a monument of Bronze Age, partially dug only," H. Demoyan said,
referring to the planned joint projects with VivaCell-MTS.

Thus, soon Tsitsernakaberd will also become a cultural complex.

Note that the World Wildlife Fund and VivaCell-MTS have initiated
"Green Generation-2010" campaign, dedicated to the "Earth Day" events,
underway for 40 years by now. The events will be held in the capital
and the regions of Armenia.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
