Azerbaijani MP Ganira Pashayeva believes some states are acting
against Azerbaijan in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
"All their efforts are aimed at establishing Turkish-Armenian
relations, opening of borders without settlement of the
Nagorno-Karabakh conflict," Pashayeva said at the parliamentary
meeting today.
She said these states have resorted to various methods of pressure.
"The pressure has not brought results, but their activity is
expanding. Some journalists in Turkey take steps not only against
their own country, but also against Azerbaijan. They have begun a
campaign to demonize Azerbaijan in the eyes of Turkey and the Turkic
world. I want to say openly about it, and our Turkish brethren must
hear us and should not believe such a provocation, and people that
blacken Azerbaijan," Pashayeva said.
This journalist spread information about that allegedly Azerbaijan
is not interested in the issue of the so-called "Armenian genocide"
and the country does not support in this regard.
"The whole world witnessed how the Azerbaijani parliament mulled the
adoption of resolution on the so-called" Armenian genocide" by the
U.S Congress committee. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev telephoned
his Turkish Counterpart Abdullah Gul. The Azerbaijani Diaspora also
supported Turkey in this direction. We should not give opportunities
to the forces attempting to achieve the cooling of relations between
Turkey and Azerbaijan," she added.
Pashayeva said the Armenians and their masterminds will resume active
promotion of the so-called "Armenian genocide" on the eve of April 24.
"Azerbaijan considers this issue close to itself and always differs
with activity on this issue. Azerbaijan’s fight against the claims
about an imaginary" Armenian Genocide" continues. I think that all
Turks in the world, including Azerbaijanis, must conduct a constant
struggle against the claims of Armenians. This slander and libel
was thrown to the whole Turkic world. I would like all our people
in every corner of the world to prevent conducting activities in
connection with the false "genocide", and present the unreliability
of these information to the attention of the world public opinion,"
Pashayeva said.
