TEHRAN, APRIL 20, NOYAN TAPAN – ARMENIANS TODAY. Official Ankara is
prepared to negotiate with Western states with the aim of overcoming
the contradictions over Iran’s nuclear program. Turkish Foreign
Minister Ahmet Davutoglu declared that during his official visit
to Tehran.
In his words, the matter concerns first of all the prospect of sending
Iran’s uranium abroad for enrichment.
"If our Iranian friends have such a desire and if they consider our
role in this problem as expedient, we will not refuse," Davutoglu said,
adding: "As a third country, Turkey is prepared to act a mediator
in negotiations over the future fate of uranium reserves and other
problems relating to the nuclear program of Iran".
