FRENCH PRESIDENT CALLS ON ARMENIA AND TURKEY TO CONTINUE DIALOGUE AND MULTIPLY EFFORTS FOR PROMPT RATIFICATION OF PROTOCOLS

ArmInfo. President of France Nicolas Sarkozy has commented on April 22
statement by President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan regarding suspension
of the process of ratification of the Armenian-Turkish Protocols,
Armenian Foreign Ministry press service reported.
"President of France got acquainted with the statement by Armenian
President Serzh Sargsyan regarding Armenia-Turkey rapprochement and
the border opening. N. Sarkozy welcomes the confirmation of readiness
by the Armenian president to follow Armenia- Turkey rapprochement
process despite the difficulties both parties faced in the process
of ratification of the Armenian-Turkish Protocols signed in Zurich
on October 10, 2009. France calls on the Armenian and Turkish
authorities to continue the dialogue and multiply efforts for the
prompt ratification of the Protocols, that will much contribute
to establishment of peace and security in the region", the French
president’s statement says.
