POLICEMAN AND SPORTSWOMAN ACCUSED OF ROBBERY ATTACK ON CITIZEN OF IRAN

ArmInfo. The Special Investigation Service of Armenia is inquiring into
the criminal case on the fact of robbery attack on a citizen of Iran.
The Special Investigation Service reported that Artur Muradyan,
officer of the Facilities Protection Regiments of the State
Protection Department of the Armenian Police, has been arrested. The
investigation revealed that Muradyan and his accomplice, kickboxing
champion A.M., attacked Mohsen Zarenajad Shahsavari, an Iranian
businessman residing in Yerevan. The businessman and his assistant
were attacked approximately at 1:30AM on April 18 on the third floor
of the residential building No23 in Mashtots Ave. Madoyan directed the
pistol at the Iranians and demanded them to enter the flat saying that
there are allegedly suspected in drugs trading. Facing resistance,
Muradyan and his crime partner attacked the Iranian, beat him up and
tried to rob, but found nothing in his pockets. A.M. and A.
Madoyan are charged with Article 175 part 2 points 1 and 4.
Investigation is continued.
