April 24, 6:42 PM

The Kardashian sisters recently sparked controversy over their
decision to host a lavish party on a highly sacred day in the Armenian
culture. April 24 marks the anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. It
also happens to the be the same day that Kim and Khloe Kardashian will
be hosting a birthday party for their older sister Kourtney.
Kim and Khloe have both taken action in defending their decision to
celebrate on this somber day. As the reality sisters prepare to live
it up in Las Vegas this weekend, they have also decided to pay tribute
to their family heritage by dedicating their new Armenian-inspired
jewelry line to the families of the Genocide victims.
Prior to the launch of the Virgin Saints and Angels jewelry line, Kim
posted a dedication on her website. "Kourtney, Khloe and I will be
celebrating the launch of our jewelry collection for Virgins Saints
and Angels at Nordstrom at Fashion Island in Newport tomorrow! We all
agreed that with April 24 being the anniversary of the Armenian
Genocide, we wanted to do something special on that day to honor those
that died… and we hope that by celebrating this beautiful collection
that was inspired by our Armenian heritage, we are doing just that."
In an attempt to bring attention to such a serious issue in her
family’s culture, Kim made a special tribute. "This collection is
dedicated to everyone who lost their lives."
This topic is clearly very personal to millions of people. After
originally posting an article on Kourtney’s controversial party
yesterday, numerous readers posted their opinions about the Kardashian
sisters and the topic of the Armenian Genocide. Please continue to
leave your comments about this topic.
