MOSCOW HONORING THE MEMORY OF THE ARMENIAN GENOCIDE VICTIMS

On April 24, 2010, in Moscow in the area of a newly constructing
temple took place a ceremony of putting a wreath to the memory of the
victims of the Armenian Genocide in 1915. In the ceremony partook, the
Armenian ambassador to Russia Oleg Yesayan, Chairman of the Armenians
in Russia Ara Abrahamyan, representatives of the Armenian NGOs in
Russia as well as Armenians living in Moscow. A dirge was served on
the ceremony after which priest Yezras of Armenian Apostolic Church
and Russian diocese made a speech.
At the evening took place an event dedicated to the 95th anniversary
of the Armenian Genocide. On the opening ceremony of the evening
the ambassador Yesayan mentioned in his speech that 1915 became a
watershed for the Armenian nation. The Genocide realized in Ottoman
empire 95 years ago till today is the most harmful wound for the
Armenians. It was because of the Armenian Genocide that today the
2/3 of the Armenians lives out from its historical fatherland.
As the press and public relations department of the RA MFA informs
that on the evening were present political and social workers of the
Armenian community.
