In connection with the 95th anniversary of the Great Armenian Genocide,
on April 24, thousands of Stepanakert citizens and guests visited
the memorial complex of the NKR capital and revered the memory of
the nationals committed to genocide in Western Armenia.

Representatives of the NKR supreme, legislative, executive, judicial,
military authorities and churchmen paid a tribute to the victims’
memory and put wreaths and flowers to their monument. Dozens of social
and youth organizations came to the memorial complex with posters
condemning the Armenian Genocide. Liturgy was offered by the leader
of Artsakh Diocese Archbishop Pargev Martirosyan.

On the eve of April 24, hundreds of members of Stepanakert society
organized a torch-light procession from St. Hakob Church to the
memorial complex.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
