YEREVAN, April 27, /ARKA/. President Serzh Sargsyan said today
Armenian power generating facilities have the capacity to produce
enough electrical power so that to export it to neighboring Turkey.

Addressing participants of the 11-th meeting of the Presidential Atomic
Energy Security Council he said Armenia took steps to normalize its
relations with Turkey. In his words, the opening of the last closed
border in Europe would help both countries establish normal trade
and economic ties, including in energy sector.

"Although the process of normalization was halted due to Turkey’s
inactivity we have the potential to sell power to Turkey and to
transit it to Middle East countries through Turkey,’ he said.

The president said electrical power markets of the region are in
the making. He said Russia, Iran, Armenia, Georgia and some other
countries are working to synchronize the operation of their power
grids. He said the country that is able to produce power with least
threats to the environment will dominate this market in future.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
