DELEGATION HEADED BY RA POLICE CHIEF PAYS A VISIT TO ITALY

YEREVAN, APRIL 27, ARMENPRESS: The delegation headed by Armenian
Chief of Police Alik Sargsyan was in Italy from April 21 to April 25.

Armenian Foreign Ministry press service told Armenpress that within
the frameworks of the visit, on April 23, the Armenian delegation
met with Italian Home Affairs Minster Roberto Maroni. During the
official meeting issues presenting bilateral interest, as well as
the prospects of the further cooperation were discussed. The Armenian
chief of police invited the Italian home affairs minister to Armenia.

After the conversation R. Maroni and A. Sargsyan signed an agreement
on "police cooperation between the Armenian and Italian governments"
directed toward promoting cooperation on preventing and suspending
organized crimes, illegal production of drugs, trafficking, illegal
transportation of immigrants, smuggling, etc.

On April 22, Catholicos-Patriarch of the House of Cilicia Nerses
Petros XIX received the delegation headed by RA Police Chief,
General-Lieutenant Alik Sargsyan, who ceremonially handed to his
Holiness a passport of the Republic of Armenia.

Sargsyan also partook in a ceremony dedicated to the memory of the
victims of the genocide organized April 24 in the surrounding of
the cross-stone placed in a square next to St Nikoghayos Armenian
Katoghike Church.
