Moscow and Russia consider the options of Armenia to join Customs
Union having no common border with Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan,
RA Premier Tigran Sargsyan informed.

According to him, the issue was canvassed with Russian Deputy Premier
Igor Shuvalov in the course of his visit to Armenia. "New ideas on how
to accomplish this were voiced. There is the issue of Kaliningrad,
where certain techniques of customs clearance should be elaborated
as well. Armenia is interested in Mr. Shuvalov’s proposals to be
considered as a special zone in the Union along with Kaliningrad,"
Sargsyan said.

He explained that special regimes can be set up in the country,
enabling EurAsEC states (Eurasian Economic Community, Armenia is an
observer country in the organization-NEWS.am’s note) to operate say
in the Middle East, using Armenia as a platform of service it has on
offer, rbcdaily reports.

Not counting Turkey, that considers itself in Europe, the only Middle
East state bordering with Armenia is Iran. "The procedures of Yerevan’s
involvement in the common market are designed by joint working groups,"
Sargsyan noted.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
