ARMENIAN AMBASSADOR MEETS WITH SPEAKER OF LEBANESE PARLIAMENT AND MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS AND EMIGRANTS

YEREVAN, APRIL 28, ARMENPRESS: Armenian Ambassador to Lebanon Ashot
Kocharyan met April 27 with Lebanese Minister of Foreign Affairs and
Emigrants Ali Shami. Armenian Foreign Affairs Ministry press service
told Armenpress that the interlocutors pointed out the importance of
mutual visits of high-ranking officials, discussed the development
prospects of bilateral relations in political, commerce-industrial,
cultural and tourism spheres.

They also referred to regional issues and to the latest developments
of Armenian-Turkish relations. Ali Shami expressed confidence that all
the disputable issues can be solved through manifestation of kind will
and through peaceful negotiations. The Armenian Ambassador conveyed to
A. Shami Armenian Foreign Minister E. Nalbandyan’s official invitation
to visit Armenia in 2010.

On the same day, A. Kocharyan met with speaker of the Lebanese
parliament Nabih Berri and conveyed him RA NA Speaker Hovik
Abrahamyan’s official letter-invitation to visit Armenia. The
ambassador expressed the gratitude of the Armenian party for
hospitality and warm reception displayed during the visit of the
Armenian National Assembly speaker to Lebanon.
