ARMENIA GETS GAS RELIEF AFTER MUDSLIDE

YEREVAN, Armenia, April 29 (UPI) — Gas transmission to Armenia is
expected to resume this weekend following pipeline repairs on damage
caused by mudslide, energy companies said Thursday.

Gas transits to Armenia from Russia were disrupted when a mudslide
damaged a section of the pipeline Wednesday.

The Georgian Oil and Gas Corp., an operator of the North
Caucasus-Transcaucasion pipeline, said the Gadauri-Kobi leg of the
pipeline was damaged, causing regional disruptions to Russian gas
transits.

Russian energy giant Gazprom said regional gas supplies weren’t
affected because of reserve supplies in underground storage facilities,
Russian news agency ITAR-Tass reports.

The Georgian gas company said supplies should resume through the
pipeline within three days.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
