Armenian Music Played In Turkish Parliament

ARMENIAN MUSIC PLAYED IN TURKISH PARLIAMENT

A musical selection by Constantinople Armenian composer Sargis Effendi
(1885-1944) was played during the adjournment at the 28th Turkish
parliamentary session.

To date, the works by famous classics Johann Sebastian Bach and
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart have been mainly played in Turkish Parliament,
Turkish Milliyet daily reports.

Sargis Effendi is the son of famous Armenian master of kamancha in
Uskudar municipality of Istanbul. He moved to Paris with his family
in twilight years.
