MP: Mehmet Ali Birand’s position directed against not only Azerbaijan
but Turkey

"I do not think Mehmet Ali Birand real Turk. It seems he has mixed
blood. His position is directed not only against Azerbaijan, but also
against Turkey," Azerbaijani MP, editor-in-chief of "Azerbaijan"
newspaper, Bakhtiyar Sadigov told Trend.
He said that Birand’s actions testify that this person is sponsored by
the Armenians. He achieves recognition of the "Armenian genocide" with
the support of his patrons. His activity poses a threat to the whole
Turkey, he said.
Strengthening of the Turkish-Azerbaijani relations, strong rebuff of
the two countries towards pressure from certain centers of power, the
basic position of the fraternal countries cause serious concern of
Turkey’s and Azerbaijani opponents, MP said.
Turkish journalist Birand conducts anti-Azerbaijani propaganda for a
long period. Azerbaijani press responded by sound arguments on the
author’s claim of an article published April 15 in the newspaper
"Hurriyyet". The following article dated April 28 shows that Birand
was instructed to conduct "revision" of Azerbaijani-Turkish relations,
make a possible blow on fraternal relations, Sadigov said.
Any action against Azerbaijan, until there is the Nagorno-Karabakh
conflict, and especially when the Armenians are trying to achieve
recognition of the "Armenian genocide" is directed against Turkey, MP
said.
"If he supports the Armenians, knowing about it, it means that he is
an enemy of Turkey," Sadigov said.
Editor-in-chief of Azerbaijani newspaper regretted that Turkish
intellectuals, people who love Azerbaijan, provide the platform for
such a man, thus contributing to Birand’s free briefing by Armenia.
"Turkey has become a powerful state, capable to resist U.S. pressure.
Today, the friendship of Turkey and Azerbaijan is particularly
important. We must act together in all issues. We have successfully
withstood the test of history, proving by own blood, that no cunning
plan can not separate the peoples of Azerbaijan and Turkey ", Sadigov
said.
