Garegin ll The leader of Azerbaijan’s Muslims, Sheikh ul-Islam
Allahshukur Pashazade, said the visit was made at his suggestion.

‘I recommended that Armenian Catholicos Garegin ll visit the martyrs
who died for Karabakh and see the graves of our sons. They went there
at night when there was no one there. It impressed him greatly,’
Pashazade told an ANS correspondent.

Garegin II visited Baku last week to attend the summit of world
religious leaders on 26 and 27 April.

During his historic visit he had a trilateral meeting with the Russian
Orthodox patriarch and Pashazade, met the Azerbaijani president and
visited the Armenian church in central Baku.
