There will be protest action on the Turkish-Armenian border against
burning of the Turkish flag in Armenia, the Igdir City municipality
told Trend.
Protesters burned the Turkish flag in protest against Ankara’s refusal
to recognize the so-called "Armenian genocide" in Yerevan April 24.
Destruction of the Turkish flag has caused outrage in Turkey.
The protest action, which will start May 8 and held under the slogan
"Defend your flag", will be attended by organizations of families of
martyrs and veterans, as well as other non-governmental organizations.
Armenia claims that the Ottoman Empire committed "genocide" against
Armenians living in Anatolia in 1915. Making greater efforts to promote
the issue internationally, Armenians have achieved its recognition
by parliaments in some countries.
