The Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II
didn’t visit Shahid Alley in on his Baku visit, the Caucasus Muslim
Board informs. Note that the reply followed after the Mother See of
Holy Echmiadzin urged to refute the Azerbaijani information as if
the Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II paid an overnight visit
to Shahid Alley in Baku.
"There is a wrong view over Karekin II’s visit to Shahid Alley since a
Caucasus Muslim Board worker provided false information to Azerbaijan’s
spiritual leader Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukyur Pashazade.
This is how the discrepancy occurred. After further clarifications, we
found that Karekin II and his companions didn’t visit the alley. The
worker having provided wrong information has already been punished,"
the Board message reads.
