EPISCOPAL DIVINE LITURGY AND ORDINATIONS ON THE
35TH ANNIVERSARY OF ST. MARY’S CHURCH
On Sunday, May 9th, 2010, St. Mary’s Church of Glendale will
celebrate its 35th anniversary. H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian,
Prelate, will celebrate Divine Liturgy and deliver the sermon on this
occasion. On this occasion the Prelate will also ordain acolytes and bestow
upon acolytes the privilege of bearing a stole.
In the evening the Prelate will preside over the 35th anniversary
banquet which will be held at Palladio banquet hall. Executive Council
members will also be in attendance.
DIVINE LITURGY AND LUNCHEON IN CELEBRATION OF THE FEAST OF ASCENSION
In celebration of the Feast of the Ascension of our Lord Jesus
Christ, on Thursday, May 13th, 2010, Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at
St. Mary’s Church in Glendale. The service begins at 10:00 a.m.
H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, will preside over
the Liturgy, which will be celebrated by Rev. Fr. Avedis Torossian. Pastor
of St. Gregory Church of San Francisco Very Rev. Fr. Vaghinag Meloian will
deliver the sermon.
The annual Ascension luncheon will be held after the service at
Anoush Restaurant in Glendale. The luncheon is being held under the
auspices of the Prelate and is organized by the Prelacy Ladies Auxiliary.
Tickets are $35 and can be purchased by contacting the Prelacy.
PRELACY 38TH REPRESENTATIVES ASSEMBLY
TO BE HELD ON MAY 14 & 15
The 38th Representatives Assembly will convene on May 14th, 2010, at
the Prelacy "Dikran and Zarouhie Der Ghazarian" Hall. H.E. Archbishop
Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, will preside over the meeting which is being
hosted by Holy Martyrs Church of Encino.
The two-day meeting will cover a number of issues related to our
churches, schools, and committees serving under the Prelacy. Religious and
Executive Council elections will also take place.
In preparation for the Representatives Assembly, a clergy conference
will be held at the Prelacy on Wednesday, May 12th, and a meeting of our
churches’ Boards of Trustees on Tuesday, May 11th.
PRELATE AND EXECUTIVE COUNCIL CHAIRMAN VISITED THE ARMENIAN CONSULATE
On Wednesday, May 5th, 2010, H.E. the Prelate, and Executive Council
Chairman Dr. Garo Agopian visited the Consulate General of Armenia where
they met with Consul General the Honorable Grigor Hovhannisyan and Consulate
staff.
Given that it was the first visit of the Prelate and Executive
Council Chair to the Consulate since their move to Glendale, they
congratulated the Consul General and staff on their new headquarters. They
also had the opportunity to discuss current issues facing Armenia and
relations between Armenia and the Diaspora.
