Some of you might know an old joke:

– Doc, I can’t go to the toilet!

– Thats okay, go to the theater, or some exhibition…

The "Doc" from this joke is exactly those who at the present time
are calling the shots in Armenian government. Instead of agreeing to
resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict on the updated Madrid Principles,
"Docs" start making downright ridiculous statements.

The Head of neighboring state Serzh Sargsyan was very "busy" for
the last couple of days – he was literally glued to the news about
the latest happenings in Ankara, where the Russian President Dmitry
Medvedev went with an official visit.

Pretty much the same feelings had Armenian Defense Minister. Both
did not make any statements in the press at all during these
days. Why? Because of the fear, real fear.

"Moscow and Ankara plan to contribute to the peace in the region,
and especially in the Karabakh issue", that’s what Medvedev said at a
press conference on Wednesday, after his talks with Turkish President
Abdullah Gul.

"Both Russia and Turkey are interested in keeping this region stable,
and we, from our side will try to do all we can to move this process
forward".

According to the Russian leader, Both Turkey and Russia have common
interests and views on Middle East issue, and also on situation in Iran
and Iraq. Here, we should also mention that both Moscow and Ankara have
become much more closer to each other. They were doing it on purpose,
so in the long run it will pay off, first of all economically. We
can also state, that in the Karabakh issue both Ankara and Moscow
have common views.

Moreover, the reltions between Baku and Moscow get warmer too. Moscow
perfectly understands, that the conditions Azerbaijan wants to settle
this problem on, are the right ones. There really is no other way. And
judging by the Wednesday press conference, with Medvedev and Erdogan,
we can easily see that positions of both Ankara and Moscow have
similar points in Karabakh issue.

And of course, in some time we will get to see the usual statements
of the Armenian side, which always sees things only one way. However
these statements are nothing more than just despair.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
