SHIRAK DIOCESE HEAD ADDRESSED A LETTER TO ARCHBISHOP OF TIRASPOL IN
RELATION TO THE ARMENIAN JOURNALIST

As it is known Gyumri-born Ernest Vardanyan was arrested on April 7 by
Transdniestria charged with espionage and betrayal of homeland law
enforcers and is currently under arrest.

In this connection the Head of the Armenian Apostolic Church Shirak
Diocese Archbishop Michael Ajapahyan, by the request of the relatives
of Ernest Vardanyan, addressed a letter to the Archbishop of Tiraspol
to help the Armenian journalist.

He expressed his concern in connection with the health condition of
our compatriot.

Tiraspol archbishop Savva has already answered to Archbishop Michael
saying that right after having reached his letter they leaned about
Ernest’s condition. According to Archbishop Savva, his health
condition is sufficient.
