Political scientist: Iranian military equipment located in
Azerbaijan’s occupied territories

Azerbaijan, Baku, May 14 /Trend, M.Aliyev/

The main reason for the recent statement by Iranian official religious
leaders interfering recently in the internal affairs of Azerbaijan is
that in the near future, Iran will not be able to assist Azerbaijan in
the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement, the chairman of the Center
for Political Innovation and Technologies Mubariz Ahmedoglu told Trend
on May 14.

"Simply Iran says it not directly, but indirectly. Large quantities of
Iran’s military equipment are located in the occupied territories of
Azerbaijan. Iranian experts participated in installing security
systems for Armenia in these territories. If these territories are
liberated from occupation in the near future, Iran’s activities in
these areas will be revealed. Therefore, Iran incites religious
persons in Azerbaijan. Located in Azerbaijan and being considered the
fifth column of Iran, the religious individuals are in direct contact
not only with religious leaders of Iran, but also cooperate with the
special service agencies of this country," said Ahmedoglu.

Several days ago, Ayatollah Shirazi condemned the demolition of
mosques in Azerbaijan, and warned the government that if the
destruction of mosques continues, it will call for resistance and
announce the martyrs those who died on this path.

The political scientist believes that Azerbaijani believers display
double interest in the issue of the mosque.

"First, they want to pressure the government of Azerbaijan through
Iran because for some personal reasons, they are dissatisfied with the
government. Secondly, the mosque for them is means to earn money.
Official religious leaders of Iran should know that the support of
corporate interests of such "pious" can damage the Azerbaijani-Iranian
relations," said Ahmedoglu.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
